I was most surprised and impressed by how many halal options were available!
From the lettuce wrapped burger @thegreeterscorner to the halal pepperoni cauliflower crust pizza @pizzaamorecafe ( I was in food coma after that!)
For breakfast @wamonarchbeach most days I had the gluten free chocolate chip muffin with an almond milk latte and threw in a wellness shot to boost immunity.
The Mediterranean Box also from the hotel was something I grabbed on the go. It was really good and filled me up for the 3 hour flight back.
And the food @skyloftoc was phenomenal! I had the stuffed avocado which I am planning to recreate and the ceviche was the best I’ve ever had! A word of warning though, It had octopus which I had no idea it had and may have never tried it had I known! But I’m so glad I did!

All in all, I had no issues with food in Cali!

Have you ever had broccoli rice? It’s #lowcarb and a great substitute for white rice. Full of fiber and nutrient dense, you can get about a cup out of two thick broccoli stalks.
No more throwing away those broccoli stalks! #zerowastekitchen. Rice them and eat as you would regular rice! It’s perfect to #mealprep too. Just freeze as it doesn’t last more than a day in the fridge!

Ever tried salad for breakfast or Breakfast Salad? Me neither…until this.
If you follow my stories, you’ve likely seen me getting my greens in for breakfast. It wasn’t always that way. I used to love a high carb breakfast. Not really caring whether I got enough protein or veggies In. But then I started eating low carb and high protein. Here’s my version 👇🏼

This salad is totally customizable so feel free to add your veggies of choice. Mine looks different every time I make it!

Ingredients:
1 cup chopped kale
1/4 purple cabbage, sliced thin
1/2 red onion, diced
1/2 English cucumber, diced
1/2 avocado, cubed
1-2 fried eggs
Crumbled feta
Salt, crushed black pepper, sumac and red pepper flakes
Walnuts
Olive oil
Lemon juice

Cut kale leaves into bite sized strips and season with lemon juice and salt. Massage to break up the toughness of the kale. Place in a bowl. Add purple cabbage and the rest of the veggies. Set aside.
Fry 1-2 eggs in olive oil and place atop the veggies
Season with sumac, salt, black pepper and red chili flakes and walnuts. Once you break up the yolks, they become part of the dressing! Toss everything and test seasoning. Add more if desired.
