October is dedicated to breast cancer awareness and I wanted to go beyond the pink ribbons and charity walks. Prevention is what I promote and so key when it comes to vibrant health and longevity. Every disease has a root cause. Research shows that inflammation is at the root of most chronic illnesses. Cancer is a chronic illness just like…
I don’t believe in having just one day allocated to the toughest position in the world. Motherhood. Raising little humans is one of great responsibility although extremely gratifying at the same time. Before I became a mom I really didn’t realize just how tough moms had it. It’s been ten years since I lost my own mom. Ten years on…
I have been wanting to make something that would give me the satisfaction of methai (a popular South Asian dessert/sweet meat made with milk and sugar) yet without the dairy and refined sugar. I was surfing the internet and came across detoxinista’s version and thought I’d give it a try. I tweaked it a little, added some more nuts and…
Ok so let me just start by saying that these chocolate muffins are just amazing! They have become a hot favorite in my home and I have two growing boys who can safely be described as chocoholics so you know anything sub par will just not cut it! The beauty however is that I get to sneak in some zucchini without them having a clue.
It’s been a while since I posted any recipes here, infact its been a while since I posted anything at all! Well I just happened to make something really wonderful the other day and thought I’d share it with you guys:) I mean we can all use some inspiration for week night dinners and this recipe totally works because it comes together in under 30 minutes!
I am so excited to finally share The Eat.Drink.Pure30 Day Jumpstart with you all!
The premise is simple. Eat whole foods e.g. fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. Take out the bad (processed junk) bring in the good (healing anti inflammatory foods, herbs and spices) and get moving at least 30 minutes a day. This can mean any physical activity. You can do yoga, running, walking, weight training etc. but do it you must, for 30 minutes every day. That’s it. 30 days of keeping to this lifestyle is bound to heal you of so many common issues.
How has your summer been? Busy? Mine sure has been. We kicked off the break by getting our spiritual high since Ramadan fell right at the start of summer this year. Then there was travel and spending time with family. We made a trip to Pakistan again this year. It was a lot of fun as always and it was tough for me to return home. I am always so sad to leave loved ones!
We are back home winding down summer and gearing up for the school year ahead! Whether you start the school year late August or early September, this post here is to help you pack lunch like an expert!
How prepared are you to send the kids off with healthy, nutritious lunch? If your answer is “NOT SO MUCH” don’t fret, I’ve got your back!
