greetings of peace dear friends!
I decided it was time I told you a little bit more about who I am and what I do. So today I am sharing with you about the many different hats I wear. Here’s a peek into my life:
1. I am A wife and mother.
I have an extremely supportive husband, Ali. We have been married sixteen years and call Houston home.
We have two boys, thirteen and seven who also moonlight as my tasters in my recipe development and give me honest critiques. They are not always on board with my health overhauls but they don’t need to be, they’ll thank me later. They are both passionate about basketball and play the sport too so it helps to use their athleticism to my advantage. Eat well so you can play better, you get the picture.
Being mom is my number one priority and at the center of all that I do.
2. i am a student
I am a student of the Quran. I started the online course as a way to maintain my connection to the book when my younger son was just one and I couldn’t find the time or energy to enroll in a full time program and I stay on for the sheer ease. I get to show up to class in my pjs and am ensured the much needed weekly dose to keep me contemplating the real purpose of our existence. I guess you can say I am a student for life.
I am also a student of nutrition. A passion for healthy eating and sharing it with the community has brought me to this incredibly sweet place in my life. I just recently signed up for a year long course to train to be a health coach. I love it for so many reasons but most of all because it is so perfectly aligned with my beliefs.
4. I am a blogger.
I research about things that interest me, I develop healthier recipes, look into healthy lifestyle options and I blog about all of it here. This is my space and I feel like I can be myself. My sincere wish and prayer is that people find it and explore, learn and take away something positive. I blog so that I can help others realize that good health is one of life’s greatest blessings. One we absolutely can not take for granted. To learn more about my journey, read my story here
So friends, this is my life. It’s busy and sometimes over whelming and never perfect but it’s mine and in the words of Kerry Washington,
All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect and beautiful journey of my life.
